Beyond the Summit

This morning as I was seeking the Lord in a moment of heaviness I stared out of the window as I was riding on a bus and the Lord drew my eyes to a sign on the road marked with the word summit. Even as the bus passed the sign I found myself intently gazing backwards knowing in my spirit that the Lord desired to speak to me in that word. As I asked the Lord what the significance of the sign was I heard in my spirit “there is a blessing beyond the summit.”

The first chance that I got I went to look up the word summit in the Bible and to get a full dictionary definition. The word summit means a meeting between heads of government or other high-ranking officials to discuss a matter of great importance; the highest point or top of something, especially a mountain; the point or time at which something is at its most successful or intense and; point of greatest success or intensity.

And the Lord says, I know that you have gone to where you believe that you can’t go any further yet you do not feel as though you are walking in your blessed place; but I say to you there is a place of blessing beyond the summit. There is a place that I Am calling you to that will require that you come just a little farther than the ordinary mountain-top experience that you have long desired. I know that your strength is wading because you have been pressing against the pressure of your trial against great opposition and resistance from your enemy. My child “I know all the things you do. I have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance. And I can see your constant improvement in all these things but today I beckon you to come just a little farther. In this place beyond the summit you shall see Me face to face and partake of My glory. In this place you shall experience supernatural communion as you worship Me as never before. In this place beyond the summit I will meet with you for I now desire to reason with you and discuss with you and divulge matters of the Kingdom that are of great importance. And as we meet I will pour out a blessing too much for you to contain and it shall overflow and you will become a blessed blessing to those who will receive the gift that is exceedingly and abundantly above all they can ask, think or imagine.

Exodus 24:17 "To the Israelites at the foot of the mountain, the glory of the Lord appeared at the summit like a consuming fire."

2 Samuel 15:32 "When David reached the summit of the Mount of Olives where people worshiped God, Hushai the Arkite was waiting there for him. Hushai had torn his clothing and put dirt on his head as a sign of mourning."

2 Samuel 16:1 [ David and Ziba ] "When David had gone a short distance beyond the summit, there was Ziba, the steward of Mephibosheth, waiting to meet him. He had a string of donkeys saddled and loaded with two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred cakes of raisins, a hundred cakes of figs and a skin of wine."
